Oster toaster oven recall expanded

More than 66,000 additional toaster ovens are being recalled across Canada due to a possible burn risk.

According to Health Canada, the TSSTTVFDDG-033 model of Oster French Door Toaster Countertop Oven has been added to the recall as the spring-loaded doors can “unexpectedly close” and burn the user.

This is on top of a recall issued in September of 170,560 affected toaster ovens in Canada with the model numbers TSSTTVFDXL, TSSTTVFDDGDS, TSSTTVFDDG-033, TSSTTVFDXLPP-033, and TSSTTVFDDAF-033. The affected products were sold from January 2015 to July 2025. The model number can be found on the backside of the oven.

As of December 4, there have been no reported injuries in Canada. In the U.S. where 1.29 million affected ovens were sold, there have been 95 reports of the doors unexpectedly closing, resulting in burn injuries and two reports of second-degree burns.

Anyone who has the affected product is advised to stop using it and to contact Sunbeam Products Inc. for a free repair kit and installation instructions.
