The Huron Perth Healthcare Alliance is temporarily closing the St. Marys emergency department Saturday night due to staffing shortages.
The ER at the St. Marys Memorial Hospital will close this evening at 5 p.m. It will reopen Sunday morning at 7 a.m. at which point, regular 24-hour service will resume.
Anyone requiring immediate medical attention should call 9-1-1. Paramedics will re-route to the nearest available emergency department.
The closest 24-hour hospitals to the St. Marys are Stratford, Exeter, Ingersoll and London.
