Charges laid after Remembrance Day wreaths kicked

A Huron East woman is facing charges in connection with a disturbance at a Remembrance Day ceremony in Goderich.

Huron OPP were called to Goderich Square just before 10 a.m. on November 11 where a person was reportedly kicking over wreaths as organizers were setting up for the annual Remembrance Day service. Officers located a suspect who allegedly resisted arrest before being taken into custody.

A 27-year-old woman from Huron East is charged with causing a disturbance, resisting a peace officer, assault, and two counts of failing to comply with probation.

The woman was held for a bail hearing where she was remanded into custody, police said. She will make her next appearance in Goderich court on December 15.
