The West Grey Police Service has provided an update on the collision that claimed the lives of three teens, to counteract misinformation spreading online.
Police said the lone vehicle involved was travelling westbound on Concession 2 SDR before it left the roadway. WGPS reiterated that it was a single-vehicle collision, and there were no other vehicles involved.
"We are aware of misinformation circulating on social media suggesting that a following vehicle failed to stop or call for help. This information is incorrect," read the update from police.
Police say the investigation is ongoing and further updates will be provided. WGPS also urged the public to refrain from sharing unverified information and to be respectful of the affected families.
The collision occurred on November 11, and took the lives of Haley Keffer, 16, of Elmwood; Tyson Varley, 16, of Holstein; and Damon Davis, 17, of Hanover.
The fourth victim of the crash that remains in London hospital was identified as 17-year-old Landon Preiss-Hillier.
