Communities across Grey and Bruce counties are preparing to say goodbye to three teenagers killed in last week’s tragic crash near Hanover.
Family, friends, and classmates will gather over the coming days to honour 16-year-old Haley Keffer of Elmwood, 16-year-old Tyson Varley of Holstein, and 17-year-old Damon Davis of Hanover, each remembered for their kindness, creativity, and deep connections to their communities.
A celebration of life for Haley Keffer will take place Sunday, December 7, 2025 at 1 p.m. at the Elmwood Community Centre. Loved ones are being encouraged to wear mismatched socks in Haley’s honour.
Haley is remembered as a bright, gentle teenager who adored her dog Bella and cherished time with her large extended family. She leaves behind her parents, Stacy Keffer and Sarah Hubley, her brother Josh, and many relatives and close friends. A GoFundMe has been set up to support her family in their loss.
A celebration of life for Tyson Varley will be held Sunday, November 23, 2025 from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m. at the Egremont Optimist Club in Holstein.
Tyson, described as an energetic and hands-on teen, loved engines, lawnmowers, 4-wheeling, and anything mechanical. He had been working toward becoming a small engine mechanic and recently celebrated his 16th birthday with a pig roast and lawnmower races. He is survived by his parents Daniel and Maryellen, sisters Makenna and Violet, and many relatives. A GoFundMe has also been launched in his memory.
Public visitation for Damon Davis will be held at Mighton Funeral Home in Hanover on Tuesday, November 18, 2025 from 2-4 p.m. and 7-9 p.m. A private family funeral will follow, with a recorded service available online.
Damon is remembered as a hardworking, big-hearted teen who grew up helping on the family farm, learning to fix tractors, lawnmowers, and anything mechanical. He volunteered at the Hanover Care Centre, worked at Durham Furniture, and was preparing to complete his Specialist High Skills Major in automotive studies. Damon is survived by his parents Andrew and Lisa, his younger siblings Connor and Abby, his girlfriend Abrianna, and a large extended family.
The three teens, all described as deeply loved and full of promise, were killed in a single-vehicle crash on November 11.
