Stolen vehicle recovered after arrest of Stratford resident

A stolen vehicle was recovered in the Town of Minto after the arrest of a Stratford man behind the wheel.

According to Wellington County OPP, on Monday, October 20 at 8:30 p.m., the OPP Traffic Management Unit was conducting proactive patrol on Highway 9 in Minto.

Officers spotted a suspicious person in a vehicle they knew to be stolen. The driver sped off when police attempted to initiate a traffic stop.

The vehicle and suspect were eventually tracked down.

A 24-year-old man from Stratford is facing numerous charges, including flight from police, possession of property obtained by crime over $5,000, and dangerous driving.

The accused was held in custody, pending a bail hearing before the Ontario Court of Justice in Guelph.
