A new family physician will soon call the Municipality of Kincardine home.
Dr. Albert Luu will be joining the Kincardine Family Health Organization and opening a new family practice as early as September 2026. Luu will also be working as a hospitalist and at the emergency department at South Bruce Grey Health Centre’s Kincardine Hospital.
The municipality's physician recruitment program, which successfully attracted Luu to the area, made the announcement on Tuesday.
Luu, a Toronto native, has a bachelor's degree and a master's degree from the University of Toronto. He studied medicine at the Schulich School of Medicine and Dentistry at Western University, where he is currently finishing his family medicine residency.
“I was fortunate to complete part of my training in Kincardine and quickly fell in love with the work environment, culture, and scenery," Luu said in a statement. “I’m passionate about medicine, travel, and technology, and look forward to joining the community.”
Luu will be accepting new patients once his practice officially opens. People in the region in need of a family doctor can add their name to the Kincardine Family Health Organization’s online waitlist at kincardinefht.ca/patient-resources by clicking on the "Don't Have a Doctor?" heading.
There are currently 11 physicians providing primary care for approximately 14,500 patients at the Kincardine Family Health Organization. According to the municipality, a full complement of more than 15 physicians would ensure ongoing support for emergency and hospital care, retirement home visits, palliative and memory programs, pregnancy and baby wellness clinics, and mental health management.
“Recruiting and retaining physicians is one of our top priorities as a municipality,” said Mayor Kenneth Craig. “Through our physician recruitment program, we’re proud to welcome Dr. Luu to Kincardine and continue strengthening access to quality health care close to home.”
