Huron County is inviting applications for a new member to join its Accessibility Advisory Committee.
The committee provides advice to County Council and partner municipalities on how to identify, prevent, and remove barriers for people with disabilities. Its work supports compliance with the Accessibility for Ontarians with Disabilities Act, while also helping to build a more inclusive community.
The nine-member group is made up mostly of residents with lived experience of disability, along with professionals, an elected official, and the County Warden. Members may also serve on subcommittees that focus on regulation review, site and plan reviews, and accessibility education.
"This is an opportunity to make a meaningful impact on accessibility in Huron County," said Sahil Kaushal, the County’s IDEA specialist. "We encourage applications from individuals with diverse perspectives and experiences who are passionate about building a more accessible community."
Interested applicants are asked to submit a resume and letter of interest by email to clerk@huroncounty.ca, with "HCAAC Membership Application" in the subject line.
