Some local beaches still unsafe for swimming in Huron County

Two local beaches are still unsafe to swim in due to high levels of bacteria.

According to Huron Beach Info on "X", formerly Twitter, recent testing has shown levels of bacteria that are above Ontario safety standards in the water at the beaches, tested on July 30.

Those beaches are Ashfield Town Park and Hay Township Park.

Residents are advised to avoid swimming in the water and to not let children or animals go in either.

More testing will be done in the coming week to see what the bacteria levels are like at both sites.
