Owen Sound is set to burst with colour, pride, and community spirit this Saturday, as Grey Bruce Pride hosts its Seventh Annual Pride Parade and Queer Futures Block Party.
The much-loved parade will take to Second Avenue East at 2 p.m., starting at 10th Street and wrapping up at the Owen Sound Farmers’ Market. The procession will be led, as is tradition, by Two-Spirit and Indigiqueer community members — a tribute to their leadership and wisdom within the local queer community.
Following the parade, the celebrations continue with a block party running from 2 until 11 p.m. at a new location: Ninth Street East between Second and Third Avenues East.
Attendees can look forward to a vibrant lineup of activities and entertainment, including a vendor fair with over 20 booths, food trucks, and licensed patios. The mainstage will feature performances from local band Boiler Beach, DJs, cabaret acts from Troyboy Entertainment, and an EDM headlining set by Moonbean Music to close out the night.
The event also includes family-friendly activities in a dedicated Kid Zone, as well as quiet celebration options like a queer coffee hour at Ginger Press Bookshop and a silent disco for those seeking a more relaxed vibe.
In recognition of National Indigenous Peoples Day, Grey Bruce Pride will offer intentional community care spaces, ensuring Indigenous, Two-Spirit, and Indigiqueer attendees have space to gather, connect, and be celebrated.
Organizers say this year’s event will be the biggest and most inclusive yet, thanks in part to the support of community-minded businesses Parkwood and Rumpus Room, as well as generous contributions from Bruce Power.
"This is a day for everyone," said organizers in a statement. "A time to celebrate queer joy, stand in solidarity, and build futures where all identities are seen and valued."
