Chatsworth appoints new CAO

A Bruce County native who has spent the bulk of her municipal career in Huron County has been named the new Chief Administrative Officer/Clerk of Chatsworth.

The township announced the appointment of Rachel Anstett on Tuesday. She will take over the role from Patty Sinnamon, who is set to retire at the end of the month after nine years with the township.

"I am honoured to have been afforded this opportunity and look forward to working collaboratively with the council and staff of the Township of Chatsworth," Anstett said in a statement. "It is a privilege to serve, and I am committed to contributing meaningfully to the continued growth and well-being of the community."

Anstett has what is described as a depth of knowledge and experience in municipal elections, planning and development, and strong communication and public engagement skills. She most recently has served as the municipal clerk for the Municipality of Central Huron.

“Council is looking forward to working with Rachel, who has strong personal skills and attributes that will be a welcome addition to our senior management team and council," said Mayor Scott Mackey.

He went on to thank Sinnamon for her dedication to Chatsworth.

"Patty’s leadership has strengthened Chatsworth’s focus on community building and strategic planning, including the subdivision proposal within the Chatsworth settlement area, the development of a community improvement plan to support our local businesses and an overhaul of the township’s comprehensive zoning by-law."

Anstett's first day on the job will be July 14.
