Driver charged after pedestrian hit in Meaford

A pedestrian had to be rushed to hospital after an afternoon collision in Meaford.

According to Grey Bruce OPP, a pickup truck collided with the pedestrian at the intersection of Sykes Street North and Trowbridge Street around 3:40 p.m. on Wednesday.

The pedestrian suffered non-life threatening injuries and was taken to hospital for treatment.

The driver of the pickup, a 22-year-old from Collingwood, is charged with careless driving causing bodily harm. The accused is scheduled to appear in Owen Sound court in relation to the charge on July 7.
