The West Grey Police Service Board has announced Jeremy White will become the next Chief of Police, taking over the role on June 28, 2025, following the retirement of current Chief Rob Martin.
White was officially appointed by the Police Services Board on May 12, 2025 and will be sworn in during a formal ceremony in the coming weeks. His appointment marks the culmination of a 25-year career in policing, including more than two decades of service with the West Grey Police Service.
White began his policing career in 2000 as an Auxiliary Officer with the Town of Durham before joining West Grey Police as a full-time Constable in 2001. Over the years, he steadily moved through the ranks, becoming a Sergeant in 2016, Inspector in 2021, and Deputy Chief in 2024.
The Board says White brings deep experience, strong leadership, and a long-standing connection to the West Grey community.
Chief Rob Martin, who has led the service with "dedication and distinction," will retire on June 27.
