Stratford police investigating theft, damage at local cemetery

Multiple reports have been made about the theft of and damage to headstone plaques at Avondale Cemetery in Stratford.

Stratford police said the reports came in between May 26 and May 28, but the damage may have occurred anytime after May 22.

Two of the stolen plaques are described as bronze in colour and 10x10 inches in size.

Two more stolen plaques are described as black and gold in colour. One is circular in shape, while the second one is square.

The plaques were stolen from different areas of the cemetery, prompting police to urge anyone who may have a loved one with a headstone at Avondale to check for any damage or stolen items.
