The Lake Huron Coastal Centre’s Coastal Conservation Youth Corps program will return to Kincardine's Station Beach this year.
The program will run from July 11-15 and is designed for students aged 14-18 who are interested in preserving the environment.
Students who participate will have a week of activities that focus on coastal habitat rehabilitation, water quality monitoring and protection, coastal monitoring and building a sustainable community.
Some of the activities will include dune restoration, invasive species removal, shoreline surveys, plant identification, and beach clean-up.
The program ran last year in Kincardine for the first time with 12 students. Bruce Power's Environmental and Sustainability Fund has made it possible to run the program again this summer.
Registration is now open with limited spots that are expected to fill quickly. Register today through the Lake Huron Coastal Centre website at: https://www.lakehuron.ca/ccyc
