Bruce-Grey-Owen Sound candidates debate taking place in Markdale

The South Grey Chamber of Commerce is holding an all candidates debate ahead of the provincial election.

The eight people vying to become the next Bruce-Grey-Owen Sound Member of Provincial Parliament (MPP) have been invited to answer questions Friday evening in Markdale.

"This is an important opportunity for residents of South Grey to engage directly with the candidates and understand their positions on the issues that matter most to our community," said Karen Cox, President of the South Grey Chamber of Commerce. "We encourage everyone to attend, ask questions, and make an informed decision in the upcoming election."

The candidates are Michael Butt, Libertarian; Matt Fritz, Alliance; Ann Gillies, Stop the New Sex-Ed Agenda; Vincent Grimaldi, New Blue Party; James Harris, Ontario NDP, Selwyn J. Hicks, Ontario Liberal Party; Joel Loughead, Green Party of Ontario; and Paul Vickers, PC Party of Ontario.

Vickers replaces current MPP Rick Byers who previously announced he wouldn't seek re-election.

The debate will happen at Annesley Church starting at 7 p.m.
