Nearly half a dozen charges have been laid against a Southampton man after various weapons and drugs were found inside a vehicle crashed in the Township of Melancthon.
Dufferin OPP were called about a vehicle in the ditch near County Road 17 around 3:40 a.m. on Saturday. Officers arrived on scene and quickly determined the driver of the vehicle had a suspended licence.
A search of the vehicle found a replica silver revolver handgun on the driver's seat, along with a replica long gun, flick knives, and a substance believed to be methamphetamine.
A 37-year-old from Southampton is charged with two counts of assault and possession of drugs, and one count of possession of a weapon for a dangerous purpose.
