Bruce County is bringing back its Spruce the Bruce Community Development Program for the 16th year, offering grant funding to help revitalize and grow local downtown businesses and communities.
The program officially launches on February 1, 2025 and provides financial support for businesses, property owners, and municipalities across the county.
“The Spruce the Bruce Program continues to empower businesses, property owners, and local partners throughout Bruce County,” said Bruce County Warden Luke Charbonneau. “This program fosters growth, innovation, and a shared sense of pride in our unique communities.”
This year, all eight Bruce County municipalities have updated their Community Improvement Plans, allowing eligible businesses and property owners to access all thirteen available grants. Successful applicants can receive funding covering up to 50 per cent of eligible costs (excluding taxes), with a set maximum per grant.
Jeff Loney, Bruce County’s Economic Development Manager, emphasized the program’s impact on local communities.
"We are proud to be able to support the growth and revitalization of local businesses and communities through Spruce the Bruce,” he said. "Spruce the Bruce allows us to build stronger, more welcoming communities for residents and visitors alike.”
For 2025, properties that have previously received Spruce the Bruce funding may also qualify for additional support for new projects. Funding is allocated on a first-come, first-served basis, so early applications are encouraged.
