My Dad’s Group offers support to fathers in Grey Bruce

Fathers in Grey and Bruce counties have an opportunity to enhance their parenting skills and connect with others through My Dad’s Group, a long-standing positive parenting program. Registration is now open for the free, 11-week 2025 session, which will be offered in two locations.

The program will be held Monday evenings in Owen Sound starting January 13 and Tuesday evenings in Hanover beginning January 14. Each session runs from 6:00 p.m. to 8:30 p.m. and includes a complimentary dinner.

My Dad’s Group, part of the Men’s Program at CMHA Grey Bruce, has been a cornerstone for fathers since its inception in the 1990s. Delivered in partnership with Bruce Grey Child and Family Services, the program offers a safe and supportive space for dads to learn about their children’s evolving needs, develop positive parenting techniques, and build connections with other fathers.

The program has evolved over the years to reflect the changing dynamics of families, but its core mission remains the same: supporting fathers in becoming loving, consistent, and engaged role models.

My Dad’s Group recognizes that not all men have had positive role models in their own lives and aims to empower participants to overcome challenges and grow for the benefit of their children.

For more information or to register, visit the CMHA Grey Bruce website or contact Bruce Grey Child and Family Services.
