A couple of cases of measles were recently confirmed in the Grey Bruce Public Health region, but the head doctor says they've all been resolved.
In an update to Grey County council on Thursday, Dr. Ian Arra said two cases of measles were confirmed in the area, related to the ongoing outbreak in New Brunswick.
Several more people were likely infected, but Arra said the spread was limited.
"There were six probable cases, all of them contained to the households of these two cases," he told council. "There was no additional community spread or exposure risk in Grey-Bruce, according to our investigation. It is worth mentioning that all the non-vaccinated households were infected with measles and all the vaccinated households were not."
The most recent Public Health Canada data shows there have been 47 confirmed cases of measles in New Brunswick in 2024 as of November 30.
Arra said the travel-related cases have now been resolved.
"That was concluded, all eight cases finished their isolation and again, according to the investigation data, no additional community spread or exposure risk in Grey-Bruce," he said.
As of December 4, there were 35 confirmed and 18 probable cases of measles reported in Ontario this year.
