It's checking out St. Marys most festive homes made easy.
The Holiday Light Tour returns to the town on Friday. The annual event offers residents and visitors a map of St. Marys "best-dressed" homes for the holidays. The map can then be used for a self-guided tour of the homes until January 1.
The maps can be downloaded at www.discoverstmarys.ca/happyholidays and hard copies can be picked up at St. Marys Museum, the Municipal Operations Centre, Pyramid Recreation Centre, Friendship Centre, and St. Marys Public Library.
Homes on the tour will be lit up each evening for all to enjoy until the new year.
The Holiday Light Tour can be viewed on its own or as a way to enhance the WinterLights experience at Milt Dunnell Field. The festive display illuminates the park every evening from 5 p.m. to 11 p.m. Horse and wagon rides will be added to the holiday offering on December 6, 7, 14, 21, and 24.
On Sunday, the St. Marys Museum will host a holiday open house from 2 p.m to 4 p.m. with children’s crafts, festive treats, door prizes, and music. Those in attendance will be able to browse the museum's “O Tannenbaum” exhibit which runs until January 13 and explores the history of Christmas tree decorations and showcases a historic ornaments collection
All three events are free to attend. Donations are being accepted for the museum open house.
