Hanover police are investigating what they say is an unprovoked attack near a business on Sunday evening.
It happened shortly after 6 p.m. on 11th Avenue near 10th Street. Police say the suspect was walking northbound on 11th, entered the clock tower parking lot from behind a restaurant, and attacked the victim.
"The male victim, who is developmentally delayed, lives in a group home and was taken to hospital with facial injuries and later released," said Police Chief Christopher Knoll in a post on X.
The suspect then left the area by way of Heritage Square.
Anyone who may have witnessed the attack is asked to call Hanover police at (519) 364-2411.
