Municipality celebrates opening of apartments in Walkerton

A ribbon cutting ceremony was held this week to celebrate the opening of the newest apartment building in Walkerton.

Officials with the Municipality of Brockton and WT Living recognized the Eastridge Premium Rental Development, a 60-unit upscale apartment building.

Brockton Mayor Chris Peabody said the apartment building is a welcome addition to the East Ridge Business Park.

"We are incredibly excited that WT Living chose Walkerton for this project," he said. "Brockton is continuing to grow, and we take a proactive approach to planning and development in this park and throughout Brockton. The rental suites available here will help ensure new residents and our growing workforce have a place to call home."

WT Living is a local, privately owned construction company focused on establishing quality rental apartments in smaller communities throughout southwestern Ontario.

"We take pride in utilizing local trades and ensuring that our residents have enhanced experiences," said partner Brad Wilson. "This building is constructed to exceed modern energy standards with efficient systems and fixtures, which allows for a relaxed, maintenance-free lifestyle, and we have more units to come."

Residents began moving in last month, but suites are still available to rent. Model suites can be viewed by appointment.
