New Avon Maitland School Board Strategic Plan aims to inspire and empower students

The Avon Maitland District School Board has unveiled its roadmap for the next four years, centered on student achievement, personal well-being, and community partnership.

The 2026-2030 Strategic Plan sets out a district-wide goal to provide every student across all schools with a high-quality learning environment, a genuine sense of belonging, and strong local connections.

The board’s multi-year framework is structured around three main pillars: "We Are Prepared," "We Are Well," and "We Are Engaged." Under the preparation priority, the board will focus on helping students progress and build essential skills tailored for their future success.

The well-being priority aims to foster safe, inclusive, and supportive classroom environments for students and staff alike. Meanwhile, the engagement goal seeks to build trust and strengthen relationships with families and community partners through active communication.

"Our new strategic plan represents our shared commitments and highest aspirations for AMDSB students over the next four years," said Michael Bannerman, Chair of the Board. "By focusing on preparation, well-being, and community engagement, we are ensuring that our schools remain spaces where every child feels supported, inspired, and empowered to succeed."
