OPP confirms no threat to public safety as investigation continues in downtown Walkerton

Ontario Provincial Police reported an increased police presence in downtown Walkerton on Tuesday, asking residents to avoid the area while they conduct an investigation.

The incident, which prompted road closures in the downtown, was quickly resolved, with South Bruce OPP confirming there is no threat to public safety. Authorities initially alerted the public on social media around 10:30 a.m., and by 10:50 a.m., the OPP West Region announced the situation had been safely managed.

Further details about the incident have not been released, and OPP thanked residents for their cooperation.
