Police arrest and charge multiple suspects following arson investigation

Saugeen Shores Police Service has arrested and charged multiple suspects after an arson investigation.

On September 26 at 2:15 a.m., police responded alongside the Saugeen Shores Fire Department to a residential fire in Southampton.

Following an investigation with help from the Ontario Fire Marshall's office, it was determined the fire was suspicious in nature.

Investigators determined the cause of the fire was arson, and on October 10, police arrested and charged a man from Arran-Elderslie with numerous charges including attempt to commit murder, arson, and assault.

Following that man's arrest, police executed a search warrant at an address in Arran-Elderslie, where they recovered quantity of cocaine and other drug trafficking paraphernalia.

Two suspects, a male and female, were arrested and charged with trafficking cocaine and possession of cocaine for the purpose of trafficking.
