UPDATE: One Huron-Perth beach deemed unsafe following retests

The final water quality tests of the summer found just one area beach unsafe for swimming this long weekend, following retesting.

On Thursday, Huron Perth Public Health reported higher than recommended bacteria levels for Amberley, Ashfield Township Park, Port Albert, Goderich Main, Rotary Cove, St. Joseph's, Hay Township Park, and Port Blake Beaches.

But after retesting the water at all those beaches on Friday, only the Goderich Main Beach was still reporting high levels of bacteria.

This was the final week of the Health Unit's water testing program for the summer.
