Kincardine resident wins $100,000

A Kincardine resident won an instant $100,000.

After playing the lottery for nearly 20 years, Toni Pendergast struck it rich playing Instant Gold Pursuit.

“I scanned my ticket on the OLG app and saw $100,000 come up. I thought it had to be a prank. I was so excited, running around the house in disbelief,” she recalled when picking up her winnings at the OLG Prize Centre in Toronto. “My dog was looking at me like I was crazy!”

She shared that the first person she told about the win was her Grandma, who also couldn't believe it. In fact, Pendergast sent her a screenshot of the prize amount to convince her.

Toni plans to treat herself to a vacation and her mom and grandma to a spa day. The rest will be invested for her future.

The winning ticket was purchased at Farah Market Express on Doon Village Road in Kitchener.
