Overdose alert issued by Grey Bruce Public Health

Grey Bruce Public Health has issued an overdose alert after three non-fatal overdoses in the past two days.

The Health Unit says it received notifications of multiple suspected opioid-related overdoses in the Saugeen Shores and Hanover areas over the past several days.

There have also been reports of toxic lime green fentanyl in the Owen Sound area, which is causing drug poisonings that require Naloxone treatment.

The alert will be in effect until January 18.

GBPH recommends those impacted follow harm reduction practices, including never using alone, going slow, taking overdose prevention courses and carrying a Naloxone kit.
