Workshops tomorrow as part of DGR consultation process

Workshops are taking place Wednesday and Thursday in three South Bruce communities as part of the consultation process with the proposed Deep Geologic Repository.

The one hour workshops are being facilitated by GHD Limited and will be held in Teeswater, Mildmay and Formosa.

They are part of a process to determine community willingness in hosting the Nuclear Waste Management Organization Project.

The Mildmay sessions run hourly between 4 p.m. to 8 p.m. Wednesday at the pavilion, in Formosa at the pavilion between 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. on Thursday and 3 p.m. to 7 p.m. in Teeswater also on Thursday at the pavilion.

You have to register for a spot by emailing WillingnessStudy@ghd.com.

For those who cannot attend any of the workshops, there are workbooks available to fill out and they can be found at the South Bruce Municipal Office or libraries in the three communities.

There is also an online survey at www.southbruceswitchboard.ca.

Everything has to be filled out and submitted by August 13th.

The results of this consultation stage will be reported to council in the fall.
