Seaforth Country Classic continues

Defending Women's Champion, Selena Costabile, shot a 3-under par, 68, to take the lead after day one of the Seaforth County Classic yesterday. Seaforth's Robyn Doig and Canadian Hall of Famer, Lori Kane, tied at event par and they will play together again today. Doig says she was happy to be playing at home and happy with her round, but would have liked a few more putts.

She also says she really enjoys playing with Kane and she always learns something from her. Doig says Kane gave her a few tips after yesterday's round and complimented her on some of things she's doing well, noting “This is her third time coming and we appreciate her coming because of the huge support of the event. But she's a pleasure to play with and it's fun to learn, afterward she talked with me a little bit, just some things she thought I could work on, but also things she thinks I was doing really well.”

But she adds she's a little disappointed some younger players didn't see fit to come. She adds she understands that people play a schedule and sometimes they get a little fatigued, but says sometimes you just have to do the right thing and that is support that people that are trying to support you.

Kane and Doig will tee off at 12:20 this afternoon. Defending Champion, Selena Costabile, tees off ten minutes later.
