Repairs to the second floor of the Clinton Public Hospital have been completed.
Huron-Perth Healthcare Alliance CEO Andrew Williams said problems were discovered in the ceiling about five months ago.
"We had an issue with the ceiling and had to go in and repair it, so we couldn't do any work in this space," he said. "We had to check for asbestos and do asbestos abatement in sections and work through it. So we moved most of the surgeries to our Stratford site, we were able to accommodate that. We moved Small Talk to our Seaforth site, we were able to accommodate that."
Williams said the total cost of the renovations was around $200,000. About $105,000 of that will be covered through the Hospital Infrastructure Renewal funding, which is money they get every year from the government that can be allocated to renovation projects. The Alliance will cover the balance.
