The Bruce County Tourism Innovation Lab awarded $3,000 grants to three entrepreneurs to advance some unique, sustainable tourism products on the Bruce Peninsula.
Graham Thomas will run a water-based Ecotourism Experience called Eco Adventures, Kat McNichol will offer at Dreamers Writing Farm complete with Winter Glamping, and Barbara Canning will offer Wild by Nature Forest Therapy.
The winners will also receive mentorship, support services and access to a network of tourism innovators and leaders.
In all, 16 entrepreneurs applied for the Spark Mentorship and Grants Program thanks sponsorship from Bruce Power. The top five candidates pitched their plans on Tuesday in Sauble Beach.
"We are excited to see these innovative tourism ideas come to life as a result of this competition and partnership," said Jill Roote, Bruce County manager of economic development. "This collaboration creates an atmosphere where unique tourism activities are developed to enhance the visitor experience and grow this key industry in Bruce County while balancing both economic return and environmental stewardship."
The Bruce County Tourism Innovation Lab is a partnership with the Ontario Tourism Innovation Lab, Bruce County, The Bruce Grey Simcoe Regional tourism Organization, and the municipalities of Northern Bruce Peninsula and South Bruce Peninsula.
