UPDATE: Hanover man identified as victim in crash near Shelburne

Update October 1, 2019:

The victim of a fatal two-vehicle crash east of Shelburne Monday morning has been identified as a Hanover man.

The collision around 9:15 involved a vehicle and a transport truck.

The driver of the vehicle, 66-year-old Leonard Ford of Hanover was pronounced deceased at the scene. The driver of the transport truck was not injured.

A section of Highway 89 was closed for several hours to allow for OPP to investigate. The cause of the collision is still under investigation.

The OPP have confirmed that a two-vehicle crash east of Shelburne this morning claimed the life of one person.

The collision on Highway 89 involved a transport truck and a passenger vehicle.

Highway 89 is closed between Dufferin County Road 12 and the 4th Line, near Violet Hill.

The road is expected to be closed for several hours for the OPP investigation.
