Nicol Insurance Inc. is pledging $25,000 towards the new MRI for the Owen Sound Regional Hospital Foundation.
Tim Nicol, chief executive officer of Nicol Insurance, made a presentation Tuesday to the Owen Sound Regional Hospital Foundation in support of the MRI.
The Five Foundations of GBHS are working together to raise $4.7 million to replace the 14-year-old MRI for patients across Grey and Bruce counties and beyond. The new MRI will offer faster imaging, quieter tests, and improved energy efficiency.
"We are very fortunate to have the support and trust of many businesses and families throughout Grey and Bruce counties. That support is the reason we are successful, it puts us in a position where we have a responsibility and the privilege to be able to give back and support the many important initiatives like this MRI campaign that are in our backyard," said Nicol.
"New MRI technology will be able to uncover things other imaging modalities cannot," said Dr. Christian Baldaulf, radiologist and director, MRI Services, GBHS. "The new MRI will improve care for all of our patients."
