Short Story Winners Announced In Wingham

Two winners from the Alice Munro Festival of the Short Story hail from Goderich and Grand Bend.

The results of the 13th Annual Literary Short Story Competition were released this week.

In the Adult Category, Grand Bend's Marlan Siren won 1st Place for her story "Plates Don't Fall".

2nd Place was "Finders" by Carolyn Huizinga Mills, Breslau. The 3rd Place winner was Patti-Kay Hamilton, Fort Smith, NWT for "Corralled".

In the Youth Category Isabella Sheptak, a writer from Beaumont, Alberta won for her submission "Imaginary Heart". 2nd Place went to Grace Eaton of Toronto for "Hidden Deeper". And 3rd Place was awarded to Goderich's Grace McAuley for "Three Black Roses".

The Alice Munro Festival of the Short Story is the first weekend in June in Wingham.
