A split of Energizer Holdings into two companies will impact operations in Walkerton and Hanover.
The facilities have provided integrated packaging, warehouse and distribution services in support of the Household Products and Personal Care businesses in Canada.
After July 1st, the Household Products company will relocate the Walkerton display packaging operations and the Hanover warehousing and distribution functions to third party suppliers in Canada. The Personal Care Company will maintain display packaging and warehouse and distribution operations in Walkerton and Hanover.
The transition is expected to wrap up by mid 2016. Energizer currently employs nearly 80 people at the two locations. The company is not saying at this point how many jobs will be affected.
The Personal Care company includes brands like Schick, Playtex, and Banana Boat.
The household products company will be anchored by the Energizer and Eveready brands.
