The Royal Agricultural Winter Fair has named Dalhousie University's Faculty of Agriculture its official Post-Secondary Education Partner.
The arrangement will see Dalhousie and the Royal address educational pathways and career opportunities in agriculture and food with high school students, teachers and guidance counsellors.
Dalhousie's Doctor David Gray welcomes the chance to challenge people's understanding of modern-day agriculture.
The Royal's Charlie Johnstone says the sponsorship allows the fair to take its focus on education to a whole new level.
He suggests it will also help the Royal's urban visitors better understand the opportunity agriculture presents.
Among the initiatives involved in the partnership will be a guidance counsellor symposium in association with the Ontario School Counsellors' Association.
