London police say a man is facing charges in connection with three robberies in the east end.
The first one happened around 4:30 a.m. Saturday, when a man went into a business near Dundas Street and Highbury Avenue. According to police, the man was armed with a knife when he demanded cash and e-cigarettes from the clerk. He ran from the scene before police arrived, but officers were able to get a description.
They searched the area, but no arrest was made.
Around 5:30 a.m., a business near Dundas Street and Clarke Road was also robbed by a man with a knife who demanded cash and e-cigarettes.
Again, the suspect ran from the scene and was not found during a police search of the area.
Then, around 6:55 a.m., a man with a knife entered a store near Highbury Avenue and Trafalgar Street. Once again, the man demanded cash and e-cigarettes before running from the scene.
This time, police were able to find a suspect and make an arrest. However, according to police, the suspect threatened officers and resisted arrest. He was taken into custody after officers uysed a conducted energy weapon on him.
The recovered stolen property was valued at approximately $150.
After looking at surveillance video, police determined that the same man was responsible for all three robberies.
An 18-year-old is chaged with three counts of armed robbery and one count each of wearing a disguise with intent and resisting arrest.
