Update: Overdose death prompts manslaughter charge

A man faces additional charges, including manslaughter, after a death near London's downtown core earlier this year.

London police say the death happened in the afternoon on May 12.

Police went to a home near the intersection of Wyatt Street and Cavendish Crescent to check on the welfare of two people.

When they arrived they found a woman who had died and a man who was in medical distress.

The man was later released from hospital, but police deemed the death of the woman to be suspicious and opened an investigation.

Investigators determined the woman's death was caused by a multi-drug overdose On Wednesday, police announced charges against a man who allegedly sold drugs to both victims.

Jordan Alexander Colley, 31, of London faces charges including:

Manslaughter;

Causing death by criminal negligence; and

Causing bodily harm by criminal negligence.

On Thursday afternoon, police announced additional charges against the accused after a police searched a home in the city.

As a result, he faces additional charges including possession of a restricted or prohibited firearm without a licence, and careless storage of a firearm.

Colley appeared in a London courtroom on Wednesday, and again on Thursday.
