Two public schools in London, one in Arva and another Parkhill are the latest to identify new cases of COVID-19.
The Thames Valley District school board confirmed the infections late Sunday night at Medway Secondary in Arva, North Middlesex District High in Parkhill, Northridge Public in London, and Louise Arbour French Immersion Public in London.
North Middlesex District High and Louise Arbour French Immersion each had one confirmed case, while Medway Secondary and Northridge Public had two cases each.
The board reassured public health officials are notifying close contacts of the infected individuals and will follow up directly to provide specific testing advice,
"If you do not receive a letter from Thames Valley indicating the public health unit has identified your child as a close contact, your child is not considered to be at risk," the board said in a statement. "Only those staff and students who have been identified as a close contact will be notified and advised to stay home from school and quarantine for a period of 14 days."
All four schools remain open.
The board stressed that schools are a "safe place" and all health and safety protocols are being followed.
There are currently 35 confirmed COVID-19 cases at 26 schools within the Thames Valley district.
