Police find $100K in stolen property

Two people from Windsor are facing a combined 10 charges after OPP discovered more than $100,000 worth of stolen property just east of London.

Middlesex OPP found a stolen pick-up truck and trailer at the service centre on Westchester Bourne in Thames Centre around 3:20 a.m. on Tuesday. When officers opened the back of the trailer, they located a large amount of property that had been reported stolen from London, Chatham-Kent, Leamington, Windsor, Peel, and Hamilton.

The total estimated value of the stolen items is more than $100,000.

A man and woman were arrested at the scene.

Charles Bell, 36, and Miranda Ackroyd, 24, both of Windsor are charged with two counts each of possession of property obtained by crime over $5,000, one count each of possession of break-in instruments and possession of property obtained by crime under $5,000.

Bell is additionally charged with two counts of theft of a motor vehicle. None of the charges have been proven in court.
