12 newly confimed COVID-19 cases in London-Middlesex

The Middlesex London Health Unit reported another dozen confirmed cases of COVID-19 on Wednesday.

The newly confirmed cases bring the total to 162 since the pandemic began. Of those, health officials said 31 have been resolved. A total of seven deaths have been reported.

The health unit no longer offers specific details about the new cases, such as age, gender, or transmission source. However, in its daily update, the health unit reported the number of cases that are specific to long term care facilities and retirement homes. According to the health unit, there have been 13 confirmed cases of COVID in long term care facilities in London and Middlesex County. A total of five cases have been confirmed at retirement homes.

A total of 5,276 cases have been confirmed across Ontario, according to figures released by the province on Wednesday morning. Of those, 2,074 have been resolved. There have been 174 deaths associated with COVID-19 in Ontario.
