Over $85K worth of drugs seized, five charged

Five men have been charged after multiple drug busts led to the seizure of more than $85,000 worth of drugs in London.

The London Police Service said on Thursday, officers executed a search warrant at a storage unit on Bathurst Street and at addresses on Ridout Street, Talbot Street, and Wortley Road. Police also raided an address on Myrtle Street in Alymer.

As a result, 651 grams of cocaine worth $65,100, 1.5 grams of methamphetamine worth $120, and 18 kilograms of phenacetin (a cutting agent) valued at $21,600 were seized.  As well, police seized 10 cell phones, drug packaging and two hydraulic presses.

James Van Trigit, 50, and Bradley Morgan, 38, of London, are now charged with trafficking in a Schedule 1 substance, possession of a Schedule 1 substance, and conspiring to traffic in a Schedule 1 substance.

Khaled Youssef, 37, of London is also charged with possession of a Schedule 1 substance for the purpose of trafficking, trafficking in a Schedule 1 substance and conspiring to traffic in a Schedule 1 substance.

Paul Surgent, 39, of St. Thomas is charged with two counts possession of a Schedule 1 substance for the purpose of trafficking.

And Kenneth Surgent, 63, of Aylmer is charged with possession of a Schedule 1 substance for the purpose of trafficking and conspiring to traffic in a Schedule 1 substance.
