Charges have now been laid in an armed home invasion in London's southwest end.
London police were called to Upper Canada Crossing around 1:15 p.m. on Wednesday after two men forced their way inside a Talbot Village home. A caller to 911 indicated one of the men had a gun. The men are said to have stolen several items from the home and took off in a vehicle when police arrived.
Officers followed the vehicle from the neighbourhood, trying unsuccessfully to stop it. The vehicle collided with a police cruiser at a Byron intersection before finally stopping in the area of Wonderland Road and Proudfoot Lane.
According to police, the three men inside the vehicle then ran off, but were quickly arrested without incident.
Randy Allen McPherson, 36, Matthew Lindsay Harp, 33, both London and Jason Robert Young, 43, of St. Thomas are charged with armed robbery and possession of property obtained by crime under $5,000
McPherson is additionally charged with assault with a weapon, forcible entry, pointing a firearm, and possession of break-in instruments and firearm ammunition.
Young is also charged with dangerous operation of a vehicle and failure to stop for police.
All three were scheduled to appear in London court Thursday.
Police do not believe the home invasion was a random incident.
