A new agreement has been reached between Eden Villa Retirement and Assisted Living in Chatham and its health care and service workers.
The 30 employees, who were represented by Southwestern Ontario Health Care and Service Workers Union, CLAC Local 303, unanimously ratified the contract last week.
The agreement is for four years, with each employee slated to receive a four per cent wage increase in each of the first three years, and a three per cent increase in the fourth year.
"Employees at Eden Villa provide important care and support to residents every day, and they wanted an agreement that recognized both the demands of their work and their years of service," said Ryan Griffioen, CLAC representative.
Pension contributions from Eden Villa will also increase from two to three per cent.
Other incentives in the agreement include increased vision coverage and uniform allowances, as well as higher training, weekend, and shift premiums.
Workers who've been there for at least 20 years will also get an extra week of vacation.
