The recipients of this year's Black Excellence Awards have been chosen.
The individuals and organizations were picked by a selection committee and announced on Thursday night.
Organizers have applauded both the winners and other nominees.
"Their dedication, resilience, and impact reflect the very best of Black excellence in Chatham-Kent," a Facebook post announcing the winners said. "Each nomination represents a story of impact, leadership, and service within our community. While only one recipient is selected per category, every nominee is deserving of recognition and celebration."
