St. Clair golf teams set to compete in OCAA Championships

St. Clair College’s men’s and women’s golf teams are both hoping to be crowned OCAA Champions this week.

The provincial championship is happening from Sept. 29 to Oct. 2 at the Barrie Country Club.

Sunday was a practice day for both teams with three rounds of golf scheduled for the next three days.

Representing the men’s team will be Spencer Higginbottom, Simon Moir, Steven Hill, Cale Maronate, and Owen Laverty. All five will be able to play each round with the top four scores being taken daily.

The women’s team consists of Alyssa Cowling and Justine Gorham. Each women’s team can have three people play daily with the top two scores counting per round, however, St. Clair will run with just Cowling and Gorham.

The winners on both sides will qualify for the CCAA Championship being hosted by Humber College at RedCrest Golf Club from Oct. 14-18.

A live scoring tracker can be found online.
