An event held in March has raised over $2,000 in support of the Chatham-Kent Women's Centre.

The I Am Woman event was held on March 8 and 9th in Chatham and raised a total of $2,232.

"We are thrilled by the overwhelming support and generosity displayed by the community during the I Am Women events. The funds raised will make a meaningful impact on the Chatham Women's Centre's ability to continue their vital work in fostering empowerment and providing resources for women in need in our community," said one of the event organizers Lisa Lester.

The event started on March 8 which kicked off with a march, presentations and a panel discussion with Erin Liberty, Heather Robbins, Lisa Lester, Jill Howe and Nadia Asghar.

On March 9, the event continued with an expo and vendor event hosted by the organization She Leads.

According to a media release, more than 55 female- owned businesses and several women's groups around Chatham-Kent gathered at the event.
