CKSS seeded 13th at OFSAA volleyball

The senior girls' volleyball team from Chatham-Kent Secondary School opens the OFSAA 'AAA' volleyball tournament on Monday.

This is the second straight year the Golden Hawks are competing at the provincial championships.

CKSS qualifed for OFSAA after beating Windsor Holy Names in five sets to win SWOSSA on Friday, February 23.

"As a team, we've focused on our 3 values: communication, trust and growth and I think we have accomplished so much with these values since the start of the season," said outside hitter Riley Graham. "I think all of us have grown as both athletes and individuals based on these values we decided to work towards throughout the season."

The Golden Hawks are seeded 13th, and will play 7-seed Thornlea Monday morning at 10, and 4-seed Banting at 1 p.m. at the Markham Pan Am Centre.

CKSS will wrap up pool plan on Tuesday against 17-seed Kingston at 10:30 a.m. and 10-seed Redmond at 1:30 p.m.

Depending on how they do, CKSS will advance to either the championship or consolation quarter-finals on Tuesday afternoon.
